Full-time Staff: Transfer Center Coordinator

The Transfer Center Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Transfer Center, with primary responsibility for the activities and events that support students seeking to transfer to other institutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES (non-inclusive)
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Transfer Center through the development and implementation of office processes, recordkeeping, and forms.
- Work in conjunction with the College’s marketing personnel to develop promotional materials and/or campaigns (e.g., e newsletters, etc.) designed to educate and inform students, employees and other colleges about the services of the Transfer Center.
- Maintain Transfer Center web pages including the listing of Transfer Center events, college representative visits, and links to articulation and transfer guides.
- Provide general college information and explain policies and procedures for transfer of credits both into Lakeland and to other institutions to callers and visitors. Assist students in searching for transfer information on other colleges, including transfer guides, admission requirements, and course equivalencies. This may include classroom visits to highlight services available in the Transfer Center.
- Respond to questions and assist students in locating information on the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) website, including Transfer Assurance Guides (TAG), Ohio Transfer 36 (OT36), Ohio Guaranteed Pathways (OGTP), Military Transfer Assurance Guides (MTAG), Industry Recognized Credential Transfer Assurance Guides (ITAG) and Transferology; Assist with ensuring compliance for CTAG, TAG OT36, MTAG, and ITAG courses.
- Develop and implement an annual schedule of activities and events created in consultation with the Program Manager for Transfer Center and Testing and designed to meet the needs of transfer students.
- Assist in planning and execution of transfer fairs and events, including contacting college representatives, promoting events, and reserving the space.
- Coordinate all aspects of college representative visits including verification of visiting college accreditation, reserving space, promotion, and scheduling student appointments. Set up information sessions for college representatives and counselors in order to keep counselors updated on the various colleges and their programs.
- Schedule appointments for university partnership program representatives and assist with obtaining transcript information.
- Provide clerical support by assisting with projects, creating and updating simple forms, schedule appointments/setting up meetings for department members, and making follow-up phone calls, etc.
- Serve as back-up coverage for the Transfer Credit Specialist and provide additional support for college transcript processing during high volume periods. Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training and Experience Required/Preferred
- Associate degree and a minimum of one year of substantial public contact of customer service that can include general office experience; Experience working in higher education preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; correct English usage; proper document formats
- Skills in following oral and written instructions; knowledge using Windows-based computer programs required; maintaining files.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality; operate standard office equipment, perform routine and detailed tasks in an accurate and efficient manner; meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment; perform routine and detailed tasks in an accurate and efficient manner; work independently; maintain effective interpersonal working relationships.
Physical Activity Level
- Light, sit sometimes. Walk and stand sometimes, and lift occasionally.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- This is a full-time, continuing staff position. The work schedule includes 40 hours per week. The Transfer Center’s business hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- The hourly salary is at grade 6A of the staff salary schedule. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plus paid time away (sick, personal, vacation, and holiday).
