Forklift Operator

Edge Transportation specializes in flat deck, heavy haul & over-dimensional freight service throughout North America. From full truckload to less-than-truckload needs, experienced operators ensure secure and efficient transport. 
In addition, we offer Drayage service which refers to a specialty logistics service that carries freight containers over a short distance, an essential part of intermodal shipping. 
We take containers in and out of warehouses, rail terminals, ocean ports and harbors. This often involves taking huge steal shipping containers off rail cars and ship decks and then loading them onto truck trailers. From there, the container is transported to a warehouse or storage facility to get ready for the next step in the intermodal shipping process. Drayage is part of a larger logistics process.

Edge Transport is growing and currently recruiting for a fulltime forklift operator for their Edmonton warehouse. The expected start for this work is early April.

This is a Monday to Friday position from 8.00 am to 4:30 pm or as the business dictates.

Scope:

• Forklift operation to accept, count and unload material from inbound trailers.
• Load outbound material from the staging areas or trailers to the outbound trailers.
• Shipping and receiving material along with required accurate documentation.
• Load all materials into trailers using proper load securement principles to prevent damage in transit.
• Actively promote health and safety through participation and leadership in Edge Transport Health and Safety Program and Policies.
• Safe operation of all equipment.

What You Bring:

• Experience in warehouse (receiving or materials management) required.
• Experience kitting and staging of material.
• Warehouse/parts picker experience required
• Experience in using MS Office (Excellent excel skills is required for thsi role
• Forklift experience 3 yrs (gas, diesel and/or electric powered) up to 10,000 lbs required
• Strong attention to detail, follow through skills and organized
• Flexibility to multitask, and cross-train within the department
• Able to meet deadline and work in a team environment
• Responsible for the safety of yourself and others while at the worksite.
• Reporting of unsafe conditions/incidents.
• Safe operation of all equipment.
