Part-time Faculty: Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Instructor

Lakeland Community College is seeking an Emergency Medical Services adjunct instructor to teach the EMT Basic Course on Monday and Wednesday evenings, on-campus, during the fall semester.

EMTS 2011 – Paramedic-Beginner: This is an introductory course for Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P) which provides the basic knowledge and skill for general patient assessment, general pharmacology, pathophysiology of shock, burn management, communicable disease prevention, respiratory management, and trauma care in the pre-hospital setting. Classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences provide refinement of skills learned. This is the first of a series of four courses required for state certification

Course Dates and Time:  August 26, 2023 – December 15, 2023; Tuesday and Thursday 05:30pm-09:30pm, Saturday 8:30am-4:00pm.

Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) to four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts/carries objects that weigh 10 lbs. or less.
