To that end, Tom James is searching for an experienced, highly results-oriented, growth-focused individual to lead our Recruiting Department into the future.

Job Description

The Director of Recruiting will report to the Vice President of Retail Development and oversee all operations related to recruiting for our Sales Professional role. Internal and support-facing roles are recruited and interview by our Human Resources Department—this individual will be focused exclusively on sourcing and selecting Sales Professionals.

Tom James sources sales talent in a myriad of ways—a large campus recruiting focus spanning 20+ schools, online job ads and promotion, internal and client-facing referral programs, and through partnerships with key recruitment firms and sales internship companies. The Recruiting Director will be responsible for the management, oversight and innovation of our methods and processes in each area. Performance will be evaluated based on the company’s achievement of hiring objectives, with additional quality-based metrics such as longevity and sales performance of new partners. More specifically, job duties will entail:

  • Manage our Recruiting department and oversee all administration, processes and procedures related to our interview process;
  • Manage and oversee the utilization and organization systems of our Applicant Tracking System;
  • Develop and maintain our relationships with key Campus Recruiting sources and contacts, including regular travel to campus recruiting events, speaking engagements, job fairs and sales competitions; 
  • Develop and oversee our Campus Recruiter training programs;
  • Manage our online job postings;
  • Develop and oversee social media, website, brochure and other promotional materials and efforts;
  • Develop and launch a new internship program in partnership with our senior executive team and training department; 
  • Review and negotiate sponsorship and other contract agreements with campuses and partners to ensure efficient utilization of company resources (cost per hire); 
  • Conduct occasional interviews in scenarios where existing screening processes are inconclusive;
  • Work with local Store leaders to develop hiring plans and candidate generation strategies to help them hit their local people-growth objectives;
  • Design and lead strategic innovations, changes and new programs and/or partnerships to scale our recruitment processes for the next era of sales force expansion in our company;
  • Any other activities or adjustments related to achieving the company’s people-growth objectives

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 8 - 10 years of broad HR or Recruiting experience including talent management (preferably with a focus on recruiting large quantities of a single, performance-based role) in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5+ years of program management, focusing on implementing programs, change management, stakeholder management and communication.
  • College Degree
  • Strong executive presence with senior leaders and abilities to influence at all levels within an organization.
  • Collaboration mindset, with the ability to quickly form relationships with senior-level partners.
  • Approach challenges with curiosity and open-mindedness; offer new ideas or solutions
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discretely and professionally
  • Familiarity with change management principles and approaches
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000, depending on past results and experience. A lucrative, annual performance-based bonus plan up to 25% of salary and stock/employee ownership plan will be included in the overall pay package. Our comprehensive employment package includes health, dental, 401(k), profit sharing, PTO and other benefits. This is a full-time, salaried position.
